Annual Events

The Wexford Village Homes Association sponsors a variety of annual events and activities. This is a great way to get out and meet your neighbors and have some fun!

Easter Egg Hunt

On the Saturday the weekend before Easter, join our neighborhood families in Wexford Park to participate in an Easter Egg Hunt from 9:30am to 11:00am (weather permitting).  Light refreshments (pastries, donuts, and juice) are served at 9:30am and the hunt begins promptly at 10:00.  We divide the hunt into two groups:  kids 5 and under, and kids 6 to 11. We ask that each family provide 12 plastic eggs filled with a treat (candy, stamp, sticker, etc.) for each child participating. Egg drop off sites will be announced closer to the date. Information regarding the Egg Hunt will also be on the Wexford Facebook Page closer to the event. Volunteers are needed to help! A SignUpGenius link will be available so we can continue this great event. Event Chair Regina Belotti.

Earth Day/Park Cleanup

Each Spring, typically on the 3rd or 4th Saturday of April, Wexford residents gather at Wexford Park from 9:00am to 1:00pm to help spruce up the area.  This is our opportunity to provide some TLC to OUR park and make it enjoyable for all. The main focus is to pull Garlic Mustard (an invasive plant) out of the woods. We also will be removing wood and brush from the woods that have been cut up and take it to the curb for pickup.  All tools and equipment will be provided.  Light refreshments will also be available in the park shelter.  Information regarding Earth Day will also be on the Wexford Facebook Page closer to the event. Garage Sale

In May, on the Friday and Saturday immediately following Mother’s Day weekend, Wexford Village sponsors a neighborhood garage sale from 8:00am to 5:00pm both days.  Large signs are placed at all entrances into Wexford Village to advertise the event as well as on Facebook and Craigslist. This is your opportunity to pass on those “treasures” that you’ve been accumulating in your garage, attic or basement, or the things your children have outgrown.   No registration is required.  Just set up your tables in your driveway or on your lawn and “sell away”! Information regarding the Garage Sale will also be on the Wexford Facebook Page closer to the event. Garage Sale Event Chair is needed! Please contact President, Jim Rather or Volunteer Coordinator, Jane Wery.

Fourth of July

On the Fourth of July, the creativeness comes out in colors of red, white and blue when children young and old decorate wagons, tricycles, bikes and themselves with patriotic flags and decorations.  The parade line forms at the corner of South Woodmont Circle and Sawmill Road at 10:45am.  At 11:00am, with our official police or fire truck escort, we begin to march and ride toward Wexford Park.  For those of you who choose not to be in the parade, come out and watch and cheer!  Once at the park, we enjoy a picnic lunch with brats, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, mac & cheese, vegetable trays, chips, desserts and beverages provided by the association. There will be children’s games with prizes during this time. This is the most delightful event ever! Information regarding 4th of July will also be on the Wexford Facebook Page closer to the event. Volunteers are needed to help! A SignUpGenius link will be available so we can continue this very memorable event. Event Chair Ken Schmidt

End of Summer Potluck Picnic

Each Fall, there is a neighborhood Potluck & Party at the Wexford Park shelter on the Saturday evening right after Labor Day.  This fun event begins at 5:00pm.  Enjoy one more night in the park with your friends and neighbors before the leaves fall and the snow flies!  Share your summer vacation stories.  Sign up to bring a “dish to pass” and bring lawn chairs or blankets for your family.  We provide the grillables (hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, veggie burgers) along with appropriate buns, condiments and non-alcoholic beverages.  Information regarding the End of Summer Party will also be on the Wexford Facebook Page closer to the event. Volunteers are needed to help! A SignUpGenius link will be available so we can continue this very fun event. Event Chair Monica Bear
